I hope you are ready to meet these super dogs. I bet you don't know many of them, but don't worry, here’s this amazing list that will leave you speechless.
OTTO – Longest human tunnel travelled through by a skateboarding dog
This cute English Bulldog of Peruvian nationality is called Otto. He managed to glide through the legs of no less than thirty people with his skateboard on November 12, 2015, while celebrating the Guinness World Records Day. The history of this great feat goes back to when his owners, Luciana Viale and Robert Rickards, were watching videos of Tillman, an English bulldog who had astonishing skateboarding skills. That’s when they decided they wanted to have a bulldog with similar talents, like skating, surfing, among others. When they finally decided to adopt Otto, this talented puppy really exceeded their expectations. Not only did he learn quickly, but he also won everyone’s affection thanks to his great charisma. Sadly, Otto died in December 2019, his owners didn’t say much about it, and the reasons remain unknown, they only say that he was in bad health. Otto, you’ll always be a legend, thank you for sharing your talents with everyone.
ZEUS –The world’s tallest dog
Now meet Zeus, the Great Dane from Otsego, Michigan. This is the tallest dog in the world at 44 inches from his paw to the tip of its head. But that’s not all, as he measures an incredible 7 feet 4 inches standing on his two hind legs. This great height exceeds his owner, Denise Dorlang and if he were to step on your foot by chance, he’d definitely leave a big bruise. As you might expect, this humongous friend weighs 155 pounds and eats a 30-pound bag of food a day. Unbelievable! However, the large size of Zeus has caused some inconveniences for Denise since everything costs more; the food, medicines, and even transportation as they had to buy a van to transport him. During his last years of life, Zeus was a local celebrity and often visited schools and hospitals as a therapy dog. However, he died two months after his sixth birthday. Definitely more than one remembers you with a smile, big guy.
TOBY – Fastest time to pop 100 balloons by a dog
Here’s Toby, a Whippet puppy, who broke the record on his 9th birthday in front of an enthusiastic audience: the children of the city of Calgary, Canada. Toby and his owner Christie Springs volunteer in the community. He has always been a pretty energetic dog, and according to Christie, he liked to pop balloons since little. So, after watching the video of Twinkie, a Jack Russell Terrier from California, United States, popping 100 balloons in 39.08 seconds, she was sure Toby could beat that record with ease. He did so on his birthday, popping a hundred balloons in just 36.53 seconds. Congratulations, Toby. You’re a champion!
MILLY – The world’s smallest dog
At just 3.8 inches tall from legs to head while standing, here comes Milly. (CLIP) She’s a Puerto Rican Chihuahua from the town of Dorado and has been immortalized as the world’s smallest dog. Her owners, Vanesa Semler and Edwin Davila, breed Chihuahuas; they said that for the first six months of Milly’s life, they had to drop-feed her. This little girl had a difficult puppyhood, as she needed lots of care due to her size and fragility. Now she’s a true warrior and even has her own wardrobe.
FREDDY – Tallest dog living
Another Great Dane that will leave everyone speechless. Freddy is the tallest dog living and stands at 3 feet 4.75 inches tall from legs to head. What a height, you could mistake him for a horse! He lives with his owner Claire Stoneman and his sister Fleur. Claire says her dogs are her priority and she always seeks to give them the best care, and boy do they need care. She has to walk Freddy first thing in the morning so he can meet other pups and calm his urge to play with them. She has also had to change the sofa twenty times because Freddy cannot help chewing on them. Despite the few inconveniences of having a pooch as big as Freddy, the unconditional love he gives is unparalleled and totally worth it.
BLUEY – Oldest dog ever
Bluey, an Australian cattle-dog, lived almost three decades. That’s right, 29 years and five months, which would be like 200 human years. This pooch was owned by Les Hall from the town of Rochester, Victoria, Australia. Bluey was adopted as a puppy in 1910 and worked on the farm, looking after the cattle and sheep for nearly twenty years. Unfortunately, her time had come, and her body could no longer bear the work of a farm dog, that’s when they decided to put her to sleep in November 1939. Dogs usually live between 8 to 15 years, it’s pretty weird and unusual that a dog manages to live over two decades, truly impressive! I’d love for them to share the secret of such a long life. Can you imagine that your companion could live for almost thirty years?
FINLEY – Most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog
If you thought your dog loved balls, it’s time you meet Finley. This interesting Golden Retriever lives in Canandaigua, New York, and came to the Molloy family as a puppy in 2014. Like most dogs, he enjoys playing, swimming, fetching, rolling in the snow, and chasing animals he finds in his yard. But, when he was about two years old, he started holding four tennis balls in his mouth, then he was seen with six. That’s when his owner Erin applied for the record title since she knew that the previous number of tennis balls a dog could fit in its mouth at one time was five. During that time, Finley got many followers on Instagram and even threw a “pawty”, where he had a record-themed birthday cake. Congratulations, Finley!
JIFF – The fastest dog on two paws
Jiff is the internet sensation and holds the title of the fastest dog on two paws, a well-deserved recognition, just look at him. This Pomeranian from Los Angeles, California, can run 32.8 feet in just 6.56 seconds on his hind legs, and 16.4 feet in 7.76 seconds on his front paws. And not only is his speed and agility impressive, but he can also walk backwards, shake hands, crawl, ride a skateboard and stamp his own autographs. Besides, he looks like an adorable cuddly toy and is quite a celebrity, so much so that he participated in Katy Perry’s Dark Horse video clip. He has also appeared on TV and regularly on ABC’s Good Morning America.
MOCHI – Longest tongue on a dog
Here’s Mochi Rickert, a Saint Bernard about eleven years old. She has the world’s longest tongue at 7.31 inches. Her story begins when she was rescued in Sioux Falls, South Dakota a few years ago. Carla and Craig Rickert are her owners, and when they adopted her, they realized she had a tongue longer than usual. She was able to defeat Puggy, a Pekingese who made it into the Guinness World Records 2011 and had a 4.5-inch-long tongue. This physical condition isn’t entirely pleasant for Mochi, as it can result in several problems. For example, when she’s nervous, she has difficulty breathing; and when leaves stick to her tongue, she needs help removing them and avoid swallowing them. Her owners hope that this record will promote the importance of adopting dogs with different physical conditions. Thanks, Mochi, you’re an example!
HARBOR – The dog with the longest ears in the world
Harbor’s ears simulate pendulums that float in the air when he walks. This Coonhound has a 13.5-inch right ear and a 12.25-inch left ear. His owner Jennifer Wert says that Harbor’s ears have earned him many fans, not just in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado, but internationally. Everyone already knows Harbor; they even compare him to Dumbo and asks him if he could fly like the elephant. It’s pretty fascinating to see the length of his ears, I wonder if he can hear better than other dogs.
