DOG BREEDS WITH THE STRONGEST BITE

Do you like dogs? Well, I do, and a lot! However…sometimes you have to fear the bite of a beautiful doggo. Wanna know which one is the fiercest bite? Tag along and find out by yourself!

#10 Siberian Husky

This is a medium-sized dog with a fierce appearance and very erect ears. It’s used to the cold weather and resembles a wolf, although it isn’t one. The Siberian Husky is affectionate to everyone if it’s trained since puppyhood. Just like their wild cousins, they’re somewhat independent but always need company, either from a human or any other pup. It howls instead of barking, loves being among several dogs, and there always has to be someone dominant. Therefore, if you don’t get along with one, their bite can reach up to 320 PSI! This measurement shows the pressure applied to each square inch within the bitten area. The Husky is a boy that loves running and always have to do it, otherwise, it can gain weight and no one wants a fat doggo, right? You have surely seen one in some movie pulling a sled, or maybe the name Balto rings a bell. Do you now remember? Because I really wanna go for a walk with this gorgeous Siberian Husky.

#9 Rottweiler

It’s a German Molosser! No doubt that it’s one of the most famous dogs. Strong, sturdy and athletic, its origin traces back to Roman dogs. It later arrived in a place called Rottweil in Germany and was used to herd the cattle. Their fame isn’t quite good since they’re feared by many and classified as a dangerous breed; however, most of this ‘bad temper’ was due to the bad training from their owners. Currently, it’s often employed for military purposes since its a dominant dog and was born to fight, although females are friendlier than males. Their great protective nature, in case you hurt them or their owner, will enrage them and nothing will stop them. Besides, it isn’t afraid of hits or threats! Once it catches you, its bite of 328 PSI will make it clear that this buddy doesn’t hesitate to react if it doesn’t like you! So always be respectful and nice to a Rottweiler.

#8 Leonberger

This big German pup is the Leonberger, another molosser with long and gorgeous brown fur. It’s the result of a cross between other big-sized breeds such as the Saint Bernard and Great Pyrenees. There’re other theories, but doesn’t matter since this breed has been used as a rescue dog in mountain areas. The Leonberger is peaceful, docile, loyal and intelligent. This buddy can be a kind and sweet family dog, but it all depends on its early education. Always be nice and very respectful to them because this boy is pretty smart and will understand everything you say. They’re very humble, calm, and even a little lazy! So always go running with him! Despite looking peaceful, if one were to bite you, you’d feel the strength of its 399 PSI. Now you know, don’t bother this canine lion and just pet him as he’ll be a delightful and loyal companion.

#7 Akita Inu

Now meet a Japanese dog breed, though it isn’t small at all. The famous Akita or Akita Inu! This buddy is named after its place of origin, the Akita prefecture in the Land of the Rising Sun. Their strength, size, and sturdiness make them perfect for big-game hunting, not to mention that they were also great defense and attack dogs on the battlefield. Its bite ranges from 350 to 400 PSI, so this strength makes this wonderful Akita look good. They’re suitable for any weather condition thanks to their dense, water-resistant, stiff, and rough reddish coat. The Akita is one of the most faithful breeds in the whole planet! Just like the famous and loyal dog Hachiko. This story of love and loyalty…yeah…I want to cry too.

#6 Dogo Argentino

This pet is fairly famous despite having quite a few tense moments with many owners and people around the world. For that reason, they have been either banned in many countries or are in a strict list of dogs that require several permits just to raise them. Despite that, it’s stylish, large, and a great hunter, as well as an amazing family pet that is patient, playful and will get along with children. This is the result of crossing many breeds, an amazing hunter with a big bite of 500 PSI! This Argentine pal is very sociable with other dogs and is also perfect for teamwork. It’s a wonderful sniffer dog and can provide a good service if it’s raised to do so since little. Anyway, I’d be careful if I see one, better take your precautions! But…if it likes you, you’ll have a beautiful and kind friend.

#3 Cane Corso

Beautiful, imposing, gigantic and powerful, the Italian Mastiff or Cane Corso is a Dogo-type canine that’s always very self-confident. Besides, it’s protective and kind to children as long as you raised it since little. Along with the Neapolitan Mastiff, it’s one of the most spectacular Italian Mastiffs. The Cane Corso is quite energetic and needs to run a lot, so now you know, you’ll have your perfect companion for jogging! The most impressive thing about this big canine is the strength of its jaw, as it has an incredible bite that reaches up to 700 PSI! It’s a direct descendant of the Canis Pugnax, a dog from Ancient Rome. Its name could derive from the Greek word ‘Kortos’ which means fence or enclosure. However, there’s another theory that says it comes from the Latin ‘Cohors’ which means guardian since it was pretty common to use them to herd cattle in the past. And you can tell! Would you like to be protected by a Cane Corso?

#2 American Bandogge Mastiff

The Bandog or Bandogge is a new breed created in the 60s by American veterinarian John Swinford. Although, they already existed more than 500 years ago in England when the word ‘Bandogge’ meant ‘guard dog’ and it wasn’t a breed but rather a label for any other guard big-sized dog chained during the day. Their blood is 75% molosser and 25% of a breed with a protective or defensive nature or even both. They came from the cross between a Neapolitan Mastiff and a Pit Bull. Their bulky body makes them ideal for defense and they can also slam their strong jaw shut with a force of 730 PSI. They’re kind to their owners and other dogs, but not so much to visitors. So be careful if you see this pup that looks like a bag of muscles. And no doubt it is!
